AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST WILL…
Get you to your goals at your pace
Help you create a more satisfying and authentic life
Help you get things done
Connect the dots so you can ease into life
Using a neurodiversity-affirming framework, the Occupational Therapist will partner with you to help you achieve your goals by highlighting your strengths and focusing on how you can engage in daily life activities authentically.
You are an expert in your own (and your child’s) life and Occupational Therapy can help bridge the gap between what you want to or need to do and what you are able to do when engaging in daily activities. Listed below are some of the focus areas our Occupational Therapist can support you with.

Finding it challenging to participate in activities at home, school, work or in the community?
Are you going from High School to college and want to ensure you're prepared?
Are you parenting an ND child and feeling burnt out?
Life Skills
If you are experiencing difficulties with planning, organization, problem-solving, attention, memory or other cognitive abilities and these difficulties are impacting your ability to participate in activities at home, school, work or in the community, you can work with an Occupational Therapist to develop strategies tailored to your strengths and needs.
Participating in self-care tasks
Managing your finances
Managing household tasks such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, cleaning or organizing your home environment
Being successful at school with coursework and extracurricular activities (this may include strategies for planning your schedule, study skills, time management skills, attention strategies, memory strategies, or any other needs you may have)
Being successful at work
Participating in your hobbies and interests at home or in the community
Exploring strategies for additional challenges that impact your ability to perform daily activities such as sensory processing differences
Life Transitions
Life as a Parent
Sensory processing differences that impact your ability to function on a day-to-day basis
Difficulties with interoception (being able to perceive, be aware of and interpret internal body signals) which make it challenging to develop and use coping strategies
Difficulty managing competing demands of parenting and other activities such as work
Struggling with planning or organising daily schedules
For example, a child might excel at school while struggling to manage their self-care or emotional regulation needs
Perhaps they are struggling with completing homework and assignments at school and you would like to help them optimize their strengths
Researching and navigating available programs and funding for your child
Advocating for your child’s needs at school or in the community

Before connecting you with Harsha, we would like to invite you for a free twenty-minute consultation with our Client Care Coordinator.
The consultation is not a therapy session. It’s a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about us and for us to make sure you are in the best possible hands.
Therapy is all about the right fit. We are sure you’ll find the right fit with us, where neurodivergence is normal.
