SUMMARY:Canadian Neurodiversity Affirming Therapists Facebook Group
DESCRIPTION:CNDAT – Canadian Neurodiversity Affirming Therapists Facebook group\nFor Social Workers and Psychotherapists \nTOPIC: From Burnout to Balance: A Neurodiversity-Informed Framework for Therapists Guiding Clients\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Are you curious about how autistic burnout compares to other forms of burnout? How does it differ from depression\, professional burnout\, or burnout experienced by other neurodivergent individuals? What does current research suggest about effectively addressing these issues? And how can we\, as therapists\, support our clients through their journey from burnout to balance? In this webinar\, we will explore these critical questions and provide a comprehensive framework tailored for neurodiversity-affirming therapists. You’ll gain insights into the nuances of neurodivergent burnout and discover practical strategies for helping your clients navigate their path to equilibrium. Join us to deepen your understanding and enhance your practice with actionable approaches to support your clients effectively.\nThis is a Canadian community of therapists and affiliated social and healthcare providers (including Social Workers\, Psychologists\, Psychiatrists\, Speech Language Pathologists\, Occupational Therapists\, students\, etc) who serve the neurodiverse population or want to learn about neurodiversity in order to better serve their neurodivergent clients. \nAccording to the neurodiversity paradigm\, Autism and other forms of neurodivergence (e.g. Dyslexia\, ADHD\, Dyspraxia\, Dyscalculia\, Tourette’s\, etc) as naturally occurring variants in neurobiology. We are here\, as humans who occupy different locations on the neurotypical/atypical spectrum\, to network\, collaborate\, share referrals\, support each other\, explore treatment modalities\, and aid in bringing the neurodiversity paradigm to mainstream professions and the general public. \nWe share a commitment to educating neurotypical service providers about the harm that is done by imposing neurotypical norms and treatment modalities on neurodivergent people. In our work as/with neurodivergent individuals\, we seek to build self-awareness\, self-acceptance\, and skills for self-advocacy. \nN.B. We do not support Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) as a valid treatment for Autism. ABA practitioners are welcome to participate in this group provided that they refrain from explaining or defending ABA as a treatment modality. \nCurrent Group Dates: Second Friday of every month. \nRead more on Facebook here. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Resources for Therapists and Allied Health Professionals\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Free Resources\n Here you will find: \n\nworkshops\nquizzes\nsensory activities\ngroups\nand more…\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Neurodiversity-Affirming/ Neurodivergent Clinical Group Supervision\n A virtual\, monthly clinical supervision group for neurodiversity-affirming therapists and therapists in training. \n\nNeurodiversity-Affirming Therapy – What is It?\nThe Relationship Between Sex and Gender Diversity and Neurodiversity\nModifying Traditional Therapeutic Modalities for Neurodivergent Clients\nWorking with Neurodivergent/Neurotypical (ND/NT) Couples\nEmotional\, Sensory\, and Cognitive Dysregulation\nAnd More\n\nClick to read more and sign up\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Join the Team\n As a member of our growing virtual team\, you will have the exclusive opportunity to be trained in our unique\, trademarked neurodiversity-affirming treatment model\, receive ongoing supervision\, and have opportunities for continuous learning\, as teacher and learner\, alongside team members in health and mental health disciplines across Canada. See what we are currently recruiting for here
